Castles and chapels
Plenty of castles & residences adorn the landscape of Tisens. Not for nothing Tisens is called the “castles village”. The most important in the surroundings are: Castle Wehrburg from the 13th century, the beautiful “pleasure palace” Katzenzungen and Fahlburg, one of the most beautiful Renaissance castles in South Tyrol, or the ruin of Kasatsch.
In the castle Katzenzungen you can admire the largest and oldest vine in the world: the so-called “Versoaln“. In the castle there are guided tours with tastings of wine-Versoaln as well.
Numerous chapels & churches such as the parish church of the Assumption, St. Michael’s chapel with ossuary and late gothic frescoes, the oldest church in the parish, St. Anton chapel in Prissian or St. Hippolytus church are are definitively worth visiting.

Merano is a spa town with a long tradition that enjoys a specific geographical location and a unique microclimate. Palm trees and other exotic plants bloom and thrive in generous gardens in the shadow of the magnificent glaciers on the background.
Sunny promenades offer an active kind of rest: along the Tappeiner path in the middle of the typical local vegetation, you can admire Mediterranean plants such as oaks, eucalyptus, pine trees, agaves and olive trees as well as exotic plants such as palms, bamboo and cacti. Don’ miss the “Passerpromenade“: ornate flower beds and sculptures made with plants, palm trees and ornamental trees adorn this beautiful path. Stroll down the picturesque streets and enjoy a shopping tour in the numerous boutiques and take a break in one of the many cafes and ice cream shops along the river and in the handsome historic city center.

Bolzano / Bozen: the region's main town
Here awaits you eventful visit to a city with flair and interesting cultural approaches. Of particular interest is of course the historic old town with arches (arcades), take you on a shopping spree. Cafes and small restaurants offer the best of the region and make your visit a true culinary experience… Bozen is also known for its various attractions and cultural activities. Thus, e.g. the Iceman Ötzi can be admired in the Archaeological Museum. In Bozen there are about seven museums and four castles.
The Saturday market attracts locals and tourists with a colorful variety of local products too.
